antibiotics used to treat proctitis?

Proctitis may be due to several different pathogens and different antibiotics may be indicated. Empiric therapy should be guided by local resistance pattern and antibiotic policies. As a general rule some wide-spectrum antibiotics are indicated as first choice unless a immensely specific cause have been identified. Doxycycline would be a all right bet for sexually transmitted diseases but there are several pathogens it will not work against.
Only a physical nouns and history taking by a doctor can give a significant answer.
Any drug from the group of Penicilline would do the job.
